The Caker was founded in 2010 after its creator gained followers on her baking blog. After earning a degree in marketing, she began baking seriously, eventually moving into her small kitchen on Karangahape Road in Auckland.
Seven years later, it's a team of ten girls who bake fresh cakes daily for delivery around Auckland and pick up from our much larger new facility, located just two doors from where it all started, on K'Rd.
Believing that cakes should be beautiful and delicious is very important, as it helps to create a unique cake aesthetic.
Only Belgian 70% couverture dark chocolate is used in the production, and everything is filled with fruit in the cakes so that each piece is as heavenly as the last. All cakes contain ground almonds, which partially or completely replace flour, giving a more complex flavor and making the cake healthier, moister and more luxurious.
Our cakes are topped with small black vanilla pods, crushed pistachios, toasted coconut, freeze-dried fruit chunks, and swirls of berry sauce or citrus curd.
